My bedroom of 5 years

This is my bedroom. I spend a lot of my day in here. It looks pretty messy and unorganized, and maybe you don’t think it looks very cool. Wait until you see it with all the cool lights on.

My room with all the funky lights on

Here’s my room with all the cool lights on. The pink lamp and the two blue lamps have RGB functionality, they’re Philips Hue bulbs and I can control the colors, brightness and scenes from my phone. I can also sync them with my computer, so that the lights match the videos I watch (I don’t use this feature though). I also have a string of Christmas lights along my wall and a neon sign on my wall that my dad’s friend gave me. I personally find that my room looks cooler at night, the lights really pop.

Me at Waiao beach on a sunny afternoon

Despite living on an island, the nearby beaches are still all about 1–2 hours away from Taipei. Waiao beach is a beach I like to go to whenever I can. The food is great, the people are really cool, and the surf is usually pretty good.

Laying in my bed and doing college work

Here’s me laying in my bed doing college homework on a sunny day with my curtains open so that I can see the beautiful green garden. I’m also wearing my CSULB sweatshirt here! Right behind my elbow is also a cup of milk tea from my favorite traditional breakfast shop in the city. Also, if you see the large black vertical rectangle underneath the Swiss flag on my wall, that’s my next photo.

My 100 movies bucket list

Here’s what I was talking about in the previous photo! This is my 100 movie bucket list poster, and it’s scratch-off. Basically, every time I watch one of the movies on this list, I scratch it off with a coin! It’s super fun and an essential for all film students who want to be motivated to watch more movies. My goal is to have all the tiles scratched off by the time I graduate from college!

The view of the sunset from Dog’s Head Mountain

This photo was taken when I went on a hike up Dog’s Head Mountain, a popular hiking trail in Taipei that happens to be right behind my house! Here’s a view of the beautiful sunset that we get every now and then, and I was lucky enough to be up on the mountain during it!

The other side of the sunset from Dog’s Head Mountain

Now, this is from the same day, at the same time as the previous photo. This is the view of the pink clouds above the city on Dog’s Head Mountain as the sunset is happening on the other side of me.

Across from Shipai MRT Station

This is the across the road from Shipai Metro Rail Transit (our metro system) station. It’s about fifteen minutes from my house and I come here nearly every day to get around town. Right around this corner is Shipai Night Market, our local market.

A garden meal with my family and girlfriend

Here’s a silly picture of my father, mother, sister, and girlfriend as we’re about to eat a lovely meal in our garden. I shot this on my Pentax K1000 film camera with Fujifilm Color film.

Sunset at Nanshijiao on a work day

This place is called Nanshijiao. It’s quite far from my house, but easily accessible with the MRT. I teach a class at an English cram school here on Friday nights, it’s the only school I work at that isn’t 10 minutes away from my house.

The view from my from yard: my neighborhood street

This is a picture of the street leading to my house in my neighborhood. It’s what you see when you look over the wall of my front yard. I shot this on my Pentax K1000 film camera with Fujifilm Color film as well. I love this photo so much, because of the contrast between the girl running after the school bus to wave goodbye to her friends and the gardener sweeping the front of an apartment nearby.

Our cat, Spock

This is my family’s cat, Spock. He’s a boy and loves to cuddle and play around. Our cats roam around in the city and garden as well, and still come back home to us. I shot this on my Pentax K1000 film camera with Fujifilm Color film as well. I love the way the light reflects off of his eyes in this photo.

Storm, our other cat.

This is Storm, our other cat. She’s a girl and loves to hunt and can be cuddly sometimes too. I also shot this on my Pentax K1000 film camera with Fujifilm Color film. I love the highlights along the top of her head in this photo while she looks up, it’s a great photo of her.

My favorite waterfall

This is a waterfall that I go to with my girlfriend (pictured above) and her family sometimes. We trace the river and hike up a mountain and eventually find this amazing waterfall at the top. It looks like it comes out of a movie. We climb behind the waterfall and jump into the bottom sometimes, too.

My new scooter and I at the nearby scooter wash

Finally, here’s the newest addition to my family. I just bought a second-hand motor scooter and I absolutely love it. This photo is from the nearby scooter wash in my city, my dad and I went to go clean it and make it look like new after I bought it. I had just finished my work in this picture and already changed into my shorts because it was super hot that day, as it usually is in Taiwan. For those of you who don’t know, Taiwan is a major motor scooter country. They are everywhere and they are the most common way to get around in Taipei. It’s quite dangerous here, however, due to the traffic, busyness and bad driving. Although I don’t have my license yet, I’ll be taking the test once I turn 18 next month, so I decided to go ahead and invest in my first scooter.
